By Nosara, For Nosara

Nosara Recicla's story began when a group of concerned Nosarenos, dismayed at the lack of recycling service, founded a non-profit to provide recycling to the Nosara community. We collected our first material in 2010 and we've grown our impact  and capabilities dramatically since then, collecting over 115 tons of material in 2024.

Our mission remains to protect and maintain the beauty and health of the Nosara community for present and future generations. We are a recognized and compliant non-profit organization and certified recycler by the Costa Rican Ministry of Health.

"I've been working here for six or seven years, maybe even longer. I spent a long time as a volunteer before that. From the very beginning, I loved it; this place feels like my second home. I'm an operator, and I truly love what I do, it's a job that fascinates me. I just want to send a message to everyone: I hope people can become more aware of this because awareness is so important."
